Giving Back this Holiday Season
December 7, 2022
Heritage of Hudson is giving back this holiday season! We love to support our local hospitals and community in any way we can, especially during this time of year.
We recently hosted a Holiday Drive-Thru in appreciation of our local hospital Social Workers. Each person received multiple holiday surprises, including wreaths, hot chocolate, and fuzzy socks! This was the second time we hosted this event, and after year one, we gained even more attendance because word spread about the fun!
We are so fortunate to give back to our local hospitals. Thank you to our wonderful sponsors, including Hospice of the Western Reserve, Danbury, Attentive Home Health, Western Reserve Physicians, Mulberry Gardens and Rent-a-Daughter. Our healthcare partners are part of the family, and we appreciate all they do for our community.

Last month, we tapped into our creativity to give back to our community. With the help of our Activity Department, our residents created a pom-pom wreath to donate to the Akron Tree Festival. This event supports Akron Children’s Hospital and welcomes thousands of visitors every year. This was the first year our residents were able to go see their wreath in person and admire the large collection of beautifully decorated trees.
On Monday, November 14th, we loaded up the bus and headed to the John S. Knight Center in downtown Akron, Ohio. It was a chilly day, but it was worth it to see the lovely trees inside! Residents loved all the beautiful decorations. Lilla admired the Elvis wreath, and Emily’s favorite was the Ratatouille tree. Phyllis said that she really liked the beach Christmas tree. Brad thought the movie tree was really fun, but he also enjoyed seeing the multitude of Superhero-themed trees.
This event is a major fundraiser for Akron Children’s hospital, and we were so happy to be a part of it! Our residents can’t wait to return next year and see the different themes. We hope everyone enjoys the holiday season with family and friends!
