Remembering Quality Memory Care

It was a hard decision for Rose to admit her mother to a nursing home because she knew her mother would need a lot of attention due to her dementia diagnosis.

After research and consulting with friends, Rose decided to admit her mom to Heritage of Hudson's Memory Care Unit. She said she was pleasantly surprised by the positive experience. "My mother Joanne was a resident [there] for 3 years," Rose explained. "Having a family member in a nursing facility is always very hard, but Heritage of Hudson was the best decision I could have made for my mom."

"The staff was wonderful," Rose said. "They treated my mother like family." In addition to the dedicated staff and programming, one of the things Rose liked best was the cleanliness of the unit. "No matter when I came to visit she was clean and her room was always clean," Rose said. The facility has a vigorous cleaning and disinfecting process for safety precautions.

When Rose's mom passed away, Rose took solace in knowing that her mother had lived in a loving, caring environment. "I never had to worry about her care, and I always knew she was safe," Rose said. "The nurses, aids and staff made the last years of her life comfortable and gave me and my family peace of mind."
